from a reader...
------------------------
My two cents, from a reader's point of view :)
This blog is possibly one of the best ideas related to online shopping that I've seen so far. It's great that readers have a medium to make price comparisons - something we don't really even have for shopping in reality! I know as a reader and an occasional e-shopper, I really appreciate everyone here who has taken the effort to highlight cheaper prices elsewhere, so the rest of us can get better deals. Thank you, fellow buyers :)
That being said, I find it quite disappointing that many people feel the need to throw in sarcastic, snide (and sometimes downright rude) comments along with their price comparisons. Is that really necessary? If your point is to tell the world about the difference in price, you can accomplish just that by telling us about the prices in each blogshop. The only purpose that I can see, in adding rude little comments, is to vent your frustration by adding insult to injury for a particular blogshop. That is just plain childish.
Even in real life you will have people selling items at different prices. That is exactly how our imperfect market system functions. With clothes, there is no perfect competition. Not every thing is priced the same. If you don't like the price, don't buy it. If you bought it anyway, it is entirely your fault for not doing enough research. There is no need to act juvenile and bite back by hurling insults anonymously on this blog.
On the matter of charging for COD, I do not see why sellers should not be allowed to charge for any place they wish to, provided they tell you in advance. I agree that it is unfair to buyers if we agreed to COD but we did not talk about price, and later, the seller demands a certain amount. That is not the way to do business at all.
However, if the buyer and seller are negotiating a price for COD, it is more than fair for the seller to ask for any amount she wishes. It should not matter how far she has to travel - even if it is to her own front door, she has every right to charge you. Why not? If you don't like it, don't agree to it. I wouldn't, and you don't have to. Just say 'No'.
And to sellers, perhaps sometimes you feel unappreciated because people persistantly criticise your price, your service, your delivery charges. I understand that it must be frustrating, but on your part, there is no need to be childish and point out how hard you work. Just as we buyers are not forced to buy from you and therefore we should not insult you for your costs, you sellers are not forced to run a blogshop and therefore you should not whine to us about the work involved.
I for one, have had very good experiences with the sellers I have dealt with. They were friendly on their emails, understanding and accommodating in banking in my change when I overpaid, and delivered on time as promised. So to the good blogshops out there, I thank you, as well :)
FROM FT :
so sorry but we should have made certain points clear right at the beginning. some of u readers may be clear of these stuff because u all have been reading the site from the very beginning. but for the "newbies", they probably don't know about it.
so here it is:
Price Comparisons.
well it may not be an appropriate 'name' to some. so, shall we change the title? we were thinking of changing it to "alternatives". just that.
and also, some readers may not know why prices differ so much. is it because the sellers just want to make a higher profit? or are there reasons behind it?
here goes : [have been widely discussed in the earlier stages of this blog]
prices may differ because :
1. some sellers wanna earn more, some sellers settle for less profits. some sellers just want to price their items lower than the popular blogs just to attract more customers.
2. sellers do get cheated by the suppliers. different suppliers charge differently.
3. some sellers hire models to model their clothings
4. some sellers do have an 'offline boutique'. offline boutiques are usually more expensive than online boutiques
5. occasionally, some sellers import their items from overseas, but they didn't know that their items can be bought locally at a much lower price.
6. some sellers MAY HAVE included COD charges & postage charges into their stated price.
[do email us at fashion.truth@gmail.com if we miss out any! ]
anyway,
for now...
the SITE IS UNDER 'CONSTRUCTION'. do bear with us for the time being. lol. not major construction, just wanna draft out a proper "header/intro" so new readers dont get the wrong idea.
sellers/buyers/readers, do email us and give us your feedback on what else we should add on this blog / this header-or-intro / anything to clarify. thank u very much
*wont be updating for the next 3 days. meanwhile, we urge readers to write in to us ya!
thanks!

blogroll
e-shops that wants to be added into the blogroll, please send us an email at fashion.truth@gmail.com

price comparisons
1. only items which have a price difference of RM7/8 and above will be posted up.
2. the price used for this price comparison is the price stated on the e-shop's webpage. (i understand that sometimes prices for items may vary depending on customers. some e-shops just put a high price as to allow further bargaining by the customers.)
mailing list
we appreciate it if eshop owners remove us from their mailing list. we are not a fashion review site thus there's no need for us to receive mails from u all telling us that u've updated. just add us up and we'll link u up at the blogroll. with that, readers will know when u update.

Hey
I totally agree with what you've commented. It's true that it's up for the sellers to charge what price they should mark for their items. By the way, which business don't earn profits? We can't really compare the prices of retail outlet and blogshops. Because retail are buying stocks in bulks, and mass merchandise, therefore their prices are sometimes way more cheaper than blogshops. On the other hand, i assumed most of the blogshops are buying less bulks (not as much as retail outlets) therefore their cost per unit are higher than retail outlets. Retail outlets have higher bargaining power compare to blog owners by the way.
Retail outlets are big stores. They have employees and workers to bring in stocks. And have partners as well to bear liabilities if anything goes wrong. Their cost for shipping, transportation, and etc in doing a business are way more cheaper than a student who just want to earn a living by selling clothes in blogshops.
Moroever, even we blogshoppers are aware of the cost price, doesn't mean it gives us the authority to make blog owners charge at a price next to cost price. You can't complain much about it because it's a BUSINESS. How much profit margin they wish to earn, it's up to them. Plus, online shopping is all about convenience and the ability to do survey in prices. Everything is just a click away for you to make comparison. If you have found the best price in any of the blogshops, go ahead and buy it. If not, what's the point of this universal medium that allows us the freedom and free accessibility to make price comparison?
By the way, nothing is fair in this world. Moreover the complicated market system in the business world.
Price is very subjective. But I don't have any disagreement to anyone complain about customer service. Because that's up to the seller's quality in providing their service to customers and make sure they can meet their expectation.
Anyway, first time dropping by fashion truth blog. Really amazed me on how the online boutiques "world" are doing now :)
Cheers everyone.
