FROM FT :
so sorry but we should have made certain points clear right at the beginning. some of u readers may be clear of these stuff because u all have been reading the site from the very beginning. but for the "newbies", they probably don't know about it.

so here it is:

Price Comparisons.
well it may not be an appropriate 'name' to some. so, shall we change the title? we were thinking of changing it to "alternatives". just that.

and also, some readers may not know why prices differ so much. is it because the sellers just want to make a higher profit? or are there reasons behind it?
here goes : [have been widely discussed in the earlier stages of this blog]

prices may differ because :
1. some sellers wanna earn more, some sellers settle for less profits. some sellers just want to price their items lower than the popular blogs just to attract more customers.
2. sellers do get cheated by the suppliers. different suppliers charge differently.
3. some sellers hire models to model their clothings
4. some sellers do have an 'offline boutique'. offline boutiques are usually more expensive than online boutiques
5. occasionally, some sellers import their items from overseas, but they didn't know that their items can be bought locally at a much lower price.
6. some sellers MAY HAVE included COD charges & postage charges into their stated price.

[do email us at fashion.truth@gmail.com if we miss out any! ]

anyway,
for now...
the SITE IS UNDER 'CONSTRUCTION'. do bear with us for the time being. lol. not major construction, just wanna draft out a proper "header/intro" so new readers dont get the wrong idea.

sellers/buyers/readers, do email us and give us your feedback on what else we should add on this blog / this header-or-intro / anything to clarify. thank u very much

*wont be updating for the next 3 days. meanwhile, we urge readers to write in to us ya!

thanks!

e-shops that wants to be added into the blogroll, please send us an email at fashion.truth@gmail.com
would appreciate if u all could link us up too

price comparisons
1. only items which have a price difference of RM7/8 and above will be posted up.
2. the price used for this price comparison is the price stated on the e-shop's webpage. (i understand that sometimes prices for items may vary depending on customers. some e-shops just put a high price as to allow further bargaining by the customers.)

mailing list
we appreciate it if eshop owners remove us from their mailing list. we are not a fashion review site thus there's no need for us to receive mails from u all telling us that u've updated. just add us up and we'll link u up at the blogroll. with that, readers will know when u update.

Since Google does not allow anonymous comments and I do not have an account, I would just like to reply here, which is much more convenient and public. I am not a customer of your beloved Old Flame or Lollipop, but I have to say that you were offensively rude and disgustingly biased and discriminating in your comment.

First of all, please stop assuming that everyone can afford a top-notch camera, professional makeup artiste/photographer/etc. You're being really misinformed in this department, sorry to say.

Secondly, who says that Lollipop will lose out on customers? And I have to say that the way you brought your point across was VERY ill-mannered, to the point of rudeness.

"
lightings no good, lousy colour. the colour of the dress dont look appealing at all. looks like an old dress, can't quite see the designs on the dress. everything looks sooooo 'down'. even though they're selling the dress at RM7 cheaper, but they sure loose out on customers/readers coz of lousy pictures" - reader 149.

Please. What are you trying to accomplish by being dissing someone so blatantly? Assuming that you're a fellow Malaysian who has undergone at least 6 years of Moral Studies, plus a lifetime of upbringing by your parents, teachers, the education system and common sense, I have to say you're a failure. I have looked at both picture, taken a good look in fact, and no, I do not think that it looks like "an old dress". I can see straightaway that it was a similar dress to that in the other blog, and only someone with eyesight as ill as her manners would convince herself otherwise. :)

Are you sure they're losing out on customers, my reader? :) RM 7.00 is NOT a small amount, by any means. Buyers who are smart will willingly pay for a cheaper dress with mediocre pics than an expensive dress with gorgeous pics. Remember, the RECESSION is not over, and we have to be smart when doing our purchases. :) :) :)

I commend An Old Flame for her gorgeous pics. But I salute Lollipop in Wonderland for being the better blogshop owner. If I were to buy from one, it'd definitely be the shop that is easier on my wallet and conscience. And you know which blogshop that is.

comments on Simplyprettythings

i dont like her service at all. my friends all told me before bout her bad manner and bad service.
my friends like to online shopping , but few of them start to stop online shopping after buy their thing from the simplyprettythings.

actually, the price from that blogshop is acceptable, but her way of attitude and service is totally make my friends taken aback.
anyway, i may understand that she has a lot of customers to entertain, but it doesn't mean that she can ''simply'' serve her customers....

anyway, i hope she can improve her service quality...

Reader 149 & Price Comparison

(edited 180109)

picture does make a difference
i honestly pity those blogshop owners who do not have the time/opportunity to take good photos of their clothings. because good pictures does play a REALLY REALLY big role.

not all owners have the time, the correct place, the suitable camera, the appealing background colour, the good poses.... to take good pictures.
and they are a "step behind" from those blogshops that takes good pictures even when their prices are way lower

here's an example :

super awesome picture. so much time were spent on getting the photoshoot done, setting up the new blogshop - got the info from reading the owner's blog. professional photographer, professional make up artist, taken in the studio perhaps. all these contribute to such an amazing shot. it makes readers want to buy that dress!

selling at RM57

Lollipop in Wonderland

maybe u can say they charge more expensive because of nice pictures.
true also.
oh well.

[from FT : An Old Flame left a comment regarding the picture quality and so on. do take note]
just my 2 cents on pictures.

i am a blogshop owner too and i do agree with reader 145 that diary of an e always feature the same blogshop .
for example , ancient orchids , oh popsicles , velvet ribbon and so on.
she only review us 1 time which is abt 5-6 months ago.
this is fair if our items never catch her eyes ,
however i noticed that she featured some other blogshop which has the exactly same item with us
and more important is we came out with that particular item first.but we dont get reviewed!
this happened 3-4 times!! we are really disappointed and do feel angry sometime .

to me , ashopaholicdens is more partial in doing review , she review most of the blogshop that have new updates.

autumn closet and jovy's wardrobe to me are too expensive but they are both popular .
and do u remember rainbowmallows?? her stuff is expensive too , hav a lot of complains from buyer but her business is really good!
so i guess , customer just like to buy expensive stuff , so vendor , lets mark up higher to make ourself pupular!!

Reader 147

i'm an avid reader of FT.
well, i have some stuff to say, it doesn't really have anything to do with online shopping sites, but reviewers

there are sooooo many reviewers out there. diary, a shopaholics den, shopping critique, style2 . these are the ones that i frequent. and i realized that the things they feature, are almost about the same! the same dress/top featured and be found featured in other reviewer sites as well! i remember sometime ago there's a reader that wrote to FT stating that Diary only feature few blogshops. i noticed there was some change after the reader posted up that comment, but now, it just seems like it's back to the old ways. the same old blogshop being featured.

i understand that these reviewers review only the things that catches their eye, but i really hope there are more variety when they feature. seeing the same old item being featured over and over again is no fun.

oh and i'm a seller too. we used to be featured by ashopaholicsden a lot. but now it seems to have been cut down, but quite a bit. we see our items that are sold at other shops being featured. err meaning, this dress A selling at our shop is also selling at SHOP B, and we came out with that particular dress first. and we dont get reviewed. it happens quite a lot of times already and sometimes it just gets a bit disappointing. stop shop splurge is never failed to be reviewed. heard that the owner of ashopaholicsden is also the model for SSS.

just voicing out my disappointment in reviewers these days. hope u all can review more items from various shops and not just the popular shops.

and autumn closet is soooo expensive. from what i see, their blogshop is really popular. maybe it's because of the page layout, how the photos turn out and yadaa yadaa. but their items are almost always RM10 higher than other blogshops.

the choc buttons only selling this ar RM40!!!
to think! those other blogs are selling so expensive!!!

and also, i would like to support reader no.143!!!
i agree that simplyprettythings is very rude! she always very
sombong to her customers, my sister told me about her and the way
she treated her when she wanted to order something! Very irresponsible,
rude and disgusting seller! All her stocks from Sg Wang one! I saw them,
and nearly all is half the price she is selling!
thanks FT for doing justice!

i usually view ashopaholic's den and diaryofane-shopaholic to see those clothes they review and through there i click on those online boutique webpage. as recently i'm looking forsome shorts and skirts..

i came across to this online boutique simplyprettythings...and they have nice shorts.. the one i'm looking for.therefore i send in my order without thinking twice.. They replied me but the way the replied me giving me a sense of arrogant.. the sentences that they said was

"we cannot reserved the shorts for u until u banked in the money into our public bank acc. The details is at the website so do go there and get the acc no. U must bank in the money within 24 hours and after u banked in we will reserved for u."

Is this the way to treat a customer? i mean other blog even if they posted the banking details, they will still msg us the banking detail once again and most of the online blog reserved the item for 48-72 hours which i find it reasonable.. Coincidence i couldn't bank in on that day so i messaged her and arranged COD for the next day.. and they say is ok. So we have confirm the COD.. that night itself, they replied me i'm so sorry that the shorts u order is no longer available.. bye... What is this mean?? We have agreed on the item and this is how u treat a customer????

if u continue treat your customer like this, i will assure u... soon, no one will rather buy item from u as the way u treat the customer is too much

Dear Ft,

i was blogwalking when i saw something similiar to what i've confirmed to purchase. Yes, glad that i do my homework (survey and get the best deal. thats what the e-shopping for right? I can shop as long as i want, anywhere, anytime and of course--window shopping without having to drive and spending 30 mins to find the car park and paid few ringgit for it. heehee).

this bag caught my attention. To be frank, i love it because of the awesome deal, RM 28 after sales and the super duper cute and yet stylish!

Before sales is RM 39. After sales is RM 28. Posted on 1st Jan 09.
http://quadruple-queen.blogspot.com/2008/12/bags-mania.html

design 10

and to my suprise, i found this bag-exactly the same kind but double of the price. OMG. That's a killer price~ Please dont overcharge your customer like that. I dont like it. :(

Priced at RM 65. Posted on 29th Dec 08.
http://room8008.blogspot.com/2008/12/rib-my-bag.html

Photobucket

My Findings:
1.Only 3 different days but the price different is RM 26 (before Quadruple-QUeen's discount).
After discount, the difference is RM37!!
2. Quadruple-Queen's offer postage only RM 4 for the bag, which is a great deal! For room8008, no postage information included for the bag.

My advise: do your homework before you shop your stuff online~ :) Dont pay too much for the stuff you cant see and touch. For seller out there too- i dont mind if difference is RM10-15. Thats more than enough to cover all your expenses. But not till it reach RM 25 and above. Way too ridiculous!

Sweet Regards,

Hi there,

Good job for making this blog a platform for all to voice out their opinions.:)

I was just "window-shopping" online when i came upon this 2 bags brought all the way from the UK, and I did at one point wanted to get this bag
www.donotbleachme.blogspot.com

thank God I didn't. I just stumbled upon another blogshop selling the same kind of bag at a much cheaper price
www.zarfawardrobe.blogspot.com

Do Not Bleach is selling the bag for RM42 each and Zarfa Wardrobe is selling for RM25 each.

I don't mean to make any complains... but I just felt you people should know. :)

Thanks for posting this (if you did post it up). :)
Have a nice day ahead.

Hi Fashion truth,
Firstly, I'd like to thank you for creating and doing a wonderful job on the comparison on similar items and giving a chance to others to express themselves. I'm not sure whether i should write this in to you,but I didnt know who else to tell this to.
Actually my frustration is with those online stores which suddenly decide to sell shoes too and do not really give accurate info. I am not sure whether they have really done their stud and homework on the art of selling shoes for example checking on the sizes and also the height fo heels, and giving the accurate answers to customers.
i've encountered more than 3 shops which have given me wrong informations which in the end I can't wear the shoes
The first shop (Shop A) gave me wrong info on the size as well as in the height of the heels. The size although not accurate was ok, as my feet could enter it but had slight crampped feeling. But the info on the heels part was not bearable as it was actually nearly 4.5 inches and what informed was 3.2 inches.Although its not much of a difference but for people who are already tall, it does matter.
Second shop(Shop B) also gave wrong info on heels height. But am flexibel when it comes to the heels part as somehow it can be tolerable. But the ultimate was when this particular shop (Shop C) confirmed to me that the particular size stated on its blog is exactly the vincci size tht i am wearing. The shoes sizing looked a bit different than the usual ones i have seen on other blogs, but assuming shoe sizes did vary I still decided to check with them. When emailed, they said it perfectly would fit..no worries and confirmed that those were the exact vincci sizes. But guess what? When the shoes finally arrived , my feet couldn't even enter them. The best part is, just an apology and they are done. All these shops try to compesante is by saying, we woud find a buyer for you...and that would never ever happen. I was so terribly dissapointed.
My question is how could these shops be so careless and have the don't care attitude when it comes to shoe sizing?
Clothes are fine as it can be altered or something can be done. But shoes? I truly hope that they would check 101 times before stating blindly and confirming 100% to the customers on the shoes being exact vincci or nose sizes. Vincci and nose sizes are same and consistent all the time or at least at most times. So don't come and tell us customers that our we are mistaken on our own shoe sizes and we have mistakenly given the size. Our feet coul not have grown overnight, rite?
That is why we double check and yet these shop owners claim positively that they follow the standard sizes.
Well, they don't!
In my opinion the blogs have sizes which come close to original vincci or nose sizes:- (Mezzanine, Clothesbucket, Oh Popsicles, Autumn Closet, ByBinnie, Kiss & Tell)
To shoe blog owners:
Please do some study first and don't let us down, We customers so look forward towards buying and wearing them shoes as we have gone through the hassle of checking, inquring and confirming with you the seller. And we have so much trust and confidence in you, and when it arrives all the hopes and trusts are dashed when we can't wear them. Its a waste of time and money.
Lastly, Thanks to FT and the blogs I mentioned above!
Renee - A Truly dissapointed shoe lover.

Dear FT,

I came across 'ahugsandkisses' website which have this statement on their blacklisted board :

"We are, extremely & deeply sorry that these babes below are in this blacklisted board! Pls do not order from us if you don't want to, and stop making stupid and lame excuses!!!! Midgets!

Blacked-listed and totally out!!!"

I find it very disturbing, while those customers may be wrong...but calling ppl midgets? isn't that very rude?

Just my 2cents!

And nope I'm not the ones on the board, just blog hoping when I found the statement!

Cheers~

as a human being who can think, on the most beautiful planet in the solar system, i totally don't see any sense in reader 125,
talking about blogshops being environmental friendly has no enough plastic bags giving out to the customers.
when you are expressing about your "just a thoughts".
have you thought of why the weather in malaysia is getting more unpredictable?
have you thought of why are the polar bears swimming in the sea, when they used have some ice to stand on?
read this

overseas hypermarkets are providing plastic bags only when you request upon check-outs, and you have to pay 5 cents of each plastic bag,
else, you can use the paper boxes prepared by them, and carry your groceries home like that. you call those hypermarkets don't have enough plastic bags to give out?

in the end, you are just looking for the item you have bought, then, what happen to the plastic bag?

i urge all blogshops do the same ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY concept.
please do not be affected by these negative thoughts.

*a human on earth*
thank you fashion truth

Hi FT,
Just want to share some of my thoughts regarding the plastic bag and lateness charges.
I believe everyone does shopping and does have/keep some plastic bags or paper bags, why don't we just utilize these?? It’s reusable!! I'm sure buyers will not being particular that this is a paper/plastic bag of some shop/reused and feel bad about it and it will not cost seller a penny. This is a way to go green too.
I'm not trying to pin point anyone. Sellers can prepare a used/some other brand's plastic/paper in case the buyer needs it or in another hand, buyers can prepare own go green bag to receive goods and reject plastic bags that are provided by sellers.
Regarding the lateness issue, I think charging RM5 for 5 minutes lateness ias not that suitable. Maybe in about 15 minute’s time?? I know both party should be on time but then we can be a bit linen, what if the buyer is late know there is a charge and decided not to turn up?? It will be a total loss for the seller and it will end up both parties get nothing.
I believe shop owner is reasonable if any of these happens, there will sure be space of negotiation if there is really an unforeseen circumstances but putting in that way might just scare away some potential buyers and feel pressure on that.
Just my thoughts ya.

Granted I have never done business with the owner of Mezzanine, but in my humble opinion, I don't think that there is anything wrong with trying to save the environment. Sure, it could be that she is trying to cut costs as well, but at the same time, she is doing the environment a favour. That's killing two birds with one stone, ain't it?
There is nothing wrong if the seller is trying to maximise profit, because that's business. Every shopper should practice carrying their own shopping bags and refusing plastic bags, in my opinion. I myself have made it a habit to carry my own shopping bag around. As everybody should know, green is the new pink ;)
About charging customers who show up late after confirming the time and place for COD, I agree that RM5 for every 5 minutes late is way too harsh. But I can understand why she had to do it. Not all customers are courteous enough to show up on time. The sellers have a life to live too. I'm sure a majority of sellers are merely college students who are working on the sidelines to earn extra cash. That said, they are also bombarded with assignments, projects, exams and whatnot. You can't blame them for drawing the line when it comes to late customers. Customers don't have to run an entire online blog. My suggestion would be for the customers to arrive just 5 minutes earlier than the planned time. I don't need to point out that sellers must be punctual as well, right?
No offence was intended to any party, especially to Reader 131.
To Fashion Truth: I admire you for having the guts to run this blog where all of us, blogshop owners and customers, have freedom of speech. Keep it up!

Helooo there sweetie...
About the little fit on blogs going green and not providing plastic bags.
In my personal own point of view, plastic bags are not expensive but then again why can't the buyers do everyone a little favour and bring out their own bags when they collect their items?
It's it THAT HARD?

I'm all out to go Green and its wonderful having blogs which supports this humble act.
We all are humans living in the same world.
We could all do our small part for mother nature and save our dying earth.
Surely those who complaint about blogs going green are IGNORANT about how the acts of mankind has affect the environment.
I think those who complains so much about blogs that do not provide bags should go back to school and get themselves educated.

The bags are just a minor thing but this minor thing can actually play a big part in saving the environment.
So please get a grip and a life and complain about something that is worth complaining.

[from FT : "plastic bags" issues can be found at *1* *2* *3* ]

Reader 133

Dear FT,
To be frank, I actually support those blogshops who do not give out plastic bags - this is their little effort to get the going green message across.
I am sure with all the publicity in the media, everyone knows how important it is to save the earth from pollution. Plastic is a material that harms the environment - if it ends up in the sea, turtles die eating it (assuming that it is jelly fish)!
Only through reducing the use of the material in the first place, we do not have to resort to recycling at the end of the day.
I don't think it's so much a hassle for the buyers to prepare shopping bags themselves. As a buyer myself, I do not mind at all bringing along a plastic/paper bag with me when I do COD with sellers. They do not take up much space right?
And I noticed that most sellers just put the items in used plastic/paper bags (eg Vincci plastic bags) and I'm totally fine with it. I am looking forward to the items, not the fancy plastic/paper bags provided by the buyer!
I think I shall end here before I sound like an environmental freak, but I would like to stress again that it takes everyone's efforts to make this world a better place.
To all the blogshop owners who initiate this green practise, well done!
Thanks FT!

Hi FT

I'm writing with regards to Reader 130. I have dealed with the Fringe blogowner before and she's very kind and helpful with all the enquiries. I think she's the kind who makes sure the quality of her collections are in good condition and the photos taken should depict real life. I know some photos are from probably from the internet but I see there are some photos taken by herself so you should be able to judge them yourselves. :) All the best for the shoe spree! Hehe!

Btw, here's the link to Fringe blog: http://dfringe.blogspot.com/ (i'm a big fan! hehe!)
