FROM FT :
so sorry but we should have made certain points clear right at the beginning. some of u readers may be clear of these stuff because u all have been reading the site from the very beginning. but for the "newbies", they probably don't know about it.

so here it is:

Price Comparisons.
well it may not be an appropriate 'name' to some. so, shall we change the title? we were thinking of changing it to "alternatives". just that.

and also, some readers may not know why prices differ so much. is it because the sellers just want to make a higher profit? or are there reasons behind it?
here goes : [have been widely discussed in the earlier stages of this blog]

prices may differ because :
1. some sellers wanna earn more, some sellers settle for less profits. some sellers just want to price their items lower than the popular blogs just to attract more customers.
2. sellers do get cheated by the suppliers. different suppliers charge differently.
3. some sellers hire models to model their clothings
4. some sellers do have an 'offline boutique'. offline boutiques are usually more expensive than online boutiques
5. occasionally, some sellers import their items from overseas, but they didn't know that their items can be bought locally at a much lower price.
6. some sellers MAY HAVE included COD charges & postage charges into their stated price.

[do email us at fashion.truth@gmail.com if we miss out any! ]

anyway,
for now...
the SITE IS UNDER 'CONSTRUCTION'. do bear with us for the time being. lol. not major construction, just wanna draft out a proper "header/intro" so new readers dont get the wrong idea.

sellers/buyers/readers, do email us and give us your feedback on what else we should add on this blog / this header-or-intro / anything to clarify. thank u very much

*wont be updating for the next 3 days. meanwhile, we urge readers to write in to us ya!

thanks!

blogroll

e-shops that wants to be added into the blogroll, please send us an email at fashion.truth@gmail.com
would appreciate if u all could link us up too

price comparisons
1. only items which have a price difference of RM7/8 and above will be posted up.
2. the price used for this price comparison is the price stated on the e-shop's webpage. (i understand that sometimes prices for items may vary depending on customers. some e-shops just put a high price as to allow further bargaining by the customers.)

mailing list
we appreciate it if eshop owners remove us from their mailing list. we are not a fashion review site thus there's no need for us to receive mails from u all telling us that u've updated. just add us up and we'll link u up at the blogroll. with that, readers will know when u update.

thank u

Reader 100

Hey everyone, I have been shopping online a lot lately considering the massive amount of updates by blogshops nowadays. However, I do have a few questions on postage and more that needs some opinions.

1. Do you think it is part of a blogshop's responsibility to inform buyers when they have posted out their item? So far, three straight blogshops I bought from didn't inform me when they posted out my item. Its quite annoying considering I've paid the money and it is part of the blog owners initiative to let me know and not wait for me to ask. Its just a simple message to say that they have sent it out, I really don't see what is so difficult about it.

2. Should they provide you with your tracking numbers? And even if they don't I think they should help track it and make sure it reaches the buyer safely right? So far, the 3 blogshops I have purchased items from have neither sent me my tracking number nor have they tracked it for me. I feel that it is irresponsible of the (few) owners to have the 'post out and its done' attitude. I mean it is common courtesy to help the customer all the way right?

This has really got me puzzled and wondering whether these are blogshops policies. I mean if it was just one blogshop then I would understand, but THREE? Chances are I won't go back to those blogshops anymore. It doesn' take much to inform a customer about their item after they have paid for it, so I don't see any logical excuses that can defend their actions. Readers and blogshop owners alike, please do enlighten me as to what is common courtesy and proper responsibility.

p/s: I do not intend to mention any of the blogshops names as I believe that they deserve the right to remain anonymous and I respect their privacy.
I appologise if I have offended anyone in anyway, it was definitely not my intention. Thanks! =)

stories from Sellers 10

just a short note on postage and deliveries

we noticed many sites state that they will only go to the post office and certain days of the week. as now is the exam season for many, many sellers have resulted to cutting down on the frequency of visiting the post office

however, i noticed some buyers, they especially demand for their item to be shipped out the next day after payment, and if not, they make a big fuss about it. as a seller myself, i've always tried to post out the items the next day after payment has been received, but no doubt it is a burden for me as going to the post office is already a hassle, what more the long queues and no parking?

u may say that, it's my fault. i should be more firm towards the customers and say that postage cannot be done on the next day. but.. it's difficult. on one hand, we're afraid customers are unhappy with us, and on the other, we want to make the customers happy as some of these customers need the dress urgently.

anyway, point is... customers, pls do understand whenever we post out your items one or two days late. i supposed all sellers would want the customers to be happy but at times, certain situations cannot be helped!

have a good day!

Hey I hope you don't mind publishing this for me at your blog :)

Hey everyone, first of all congrats to fashion truth owner :) I think we shoppers are happy that there's a site where we can shop on a budget and compare prices and make better choices.

First of all, I would like to warn all of you shoppers out there. Lets just say if you item is Rm30 and you banked in Rm40 including postage charges, I would advise you to bank in the right amount or either let the ehop owner keep the change then you can minus it off your next purchase. I've just gotten my parcel and guess what? My RM4 was missing in it. I know right? It's just RM4 and those skanky workers at the pos office stole it!! >:( I was so freaking pissed off! Eventhough it's just RM4, but it's really dishonest to just steal it from a parcel. So yeah, to all online shoppers out there, becareful. It's either you bank in the exact amount you're suppose to pay or online banking or let the eshop owner keep the change so she/he can just minus it off for your next purchase.

Secondly, about comparing prices with pre orders. Pre orders may look nice in pictures. It's because it's photoshopped :S and somehow I don't really trust pre orders. The clothes may seem nice in pictures but when the parcel arrives at your house, you will be shock! It's nothing like it in the photo.

Thirdly, about comparing prices. I understand how you shoppers feel when an eshop owner raises their pricing so high compared to others. But the truth is, when you go to the supplier, every customer gets different price. It's only the matter of you knowing how to bargain well with them or not. I've been to supplier before. They're pretty unfriendly and easily annoyed when it comes to bargaining eventhough after buying tonnes of dresses and tops. Only the really pushy buyers can get it their way. others don't. So I don't really blame eshop owners who priced their clothes higher than others. But one of the most reasonable shops I've shopped with is Stop.Shop.Splurge, Midnight Glam, ClothesBucket, Tasty Cherry Chapstick and Clothesville. They are all nice people so I would advice you to buy from them :) I've bought over 60 dresses online and most of them are from StopShopSplurge. The owner is really sweet and nice. Not to mention patient too :)

Xoxo Avid Shopper :)

Stories from Readers 38

hi fashion.truth.

i recently laid my eyes on a dress in autumn closet.
http://autumncloset.blogspot.com/2008/10/summer-love.html
dress is called SWEET ANGEL
selling for RM 50.

Enchanting Hearts is selling for RM 48 only...
http://enchanting-hearts.blogspot.com/2008/10/my-dolly-dress.html

i actually have no problems with their attitude as they are very nice.

well, my point is, the unfair postage fees charged by autumn closet.

i made payment to autume closet on wednesday midnite. asking for her to send it out on thurs so that i can receive on fri, using post express. cuz there is nobody at home during daytime and its easier for me so that i don't need to go post office and collect cuz i need the dress on sat morning.

as u know, post express is only RM 4.

but, this is wat autumn closet replied me.

Morning babe,

We will send it out by today for u so u can look lovely lovely in Melaka :)

As the policy highlights RM7 for postal delivery, all postal for express, laju or registered will be charged RM7 ya. Otherwise, many customers will come back and dispute on postal delivery, we would only want 1 standard cost as our focus is more of bringing in more clothes for you all :)))

But for this time we will go with the RM4 as you have suggested :)

Love,
Autumn Closet

Well, i think its quite unfair. she stated that post express also she will charge RM 7. and, i believe, the clothes is only 500gm and below. i don't think she need to charge me RM 7 even for pos laju. and registered mail is only RM 3-4. and she is charging everybody a flat rate of RM 7.

not to mention she priced her dress higher than enchanting hearts.

in the end, deal was not completed but money was refund to me as she said post office only allow documents to be posted by post express.(which is true)
and in the future, if she still does not change her so called "policy" for postage, i will not buy from her anymore.

thanks fashion.truth. for doing this wonderful thing for online shoppers!

Stories from Readers 19

from a reader..

------------------------------

Just my opinion...

I still feel that it is unfair for blog owners/sellers to charge for COD. As a seller said, each drive equals to burning fuel or money.

But what happens if a seller happens to have to do COD with 3 customers at the same place and each customer is charged, say, RM5 per transaction. Isn't that like RM15 into the seller's pocket at one go? Is RM15 too little for a distance, say Sunway to Subang? I believe to get from Sunway to Subang we only drive, no tolls paid, petrol won't go down a level... none whatsoever. This is only 3 I am talking about. What if there is 10 customers (good business) meeting a seller at a certain place and each cust pays RM5. That's like RM50 easy money and I can already buy a nice dress with that amount of money.. or maybe two!

My point is - already - the seller is earning more or less a bit from the items they sell, is it alright for them to still get money from COD? Isn't it enough that you're already earning from the baju? You get 3 customers at a COD place, the amount of extra earned money from the clothes can already cover your transport bill.

In fact, sometimes as buyers, we tend to opt for COD because we do not want to pay so much for services like pos laju / pos ekpress / whatever in which, sometimes our items might get lost in between... and that's when havoc happens.

Perhaps sellers can discuss the COD charges w buyers according to the situation instead of just placing a fixed price. Be reasonable! And buyers should always learn how to negotiate with the sellers, especially if you're a regular. At least try! You'll never know.
Anyhow, it is still up to the buyer & seller to make their decision so... "it's a free choice market" says it all. Some might say, if you want your items to reach you safely, pay for it. Hmmm. TQ :)

Happy discovering and shopping!

Stories from Readers 3

....from a reader

Hi there,

I have found your blog through some links in Diary. Although the customer side of me is very happy that there is finally an avenue to compare prices between e-shops, I noticed that only the customers have been the ones speaking out, and I feel that as a blog shop we have to defend ourselves too.

I have never transacted with Rainbowmallows before (and after reading the complaints, most probably won't in the future =/) but I have to stress that not all blogshops practice the same ethics as she does. As a blogshop owner, I have always tried to do what's best for my customers, sometimes even defying my parents' orders to stay at home just to do a COD that was arranged half an hour ago (a customer called me, assuming I'm free to COD in half an hours' time.. good thing I was). My partner even went to the extent to send a customer home because it was raining. What actually makes our day was when customers sms-ed us to tell us that they LOVED the item.

Anyway, I'm just letting you know that not all e-shops are just out to get money, we like giving the satisfaction of a good purchase too. :)

Another thing is, I heard from another blog owner the the price and profit margin of some blogs were questioned last night. How much we raise the prices on our items are our prerogative. It's goes on the "willing buyer, willing seller" basis. If you are willing to buy at that price, well go ahead. If you want a cheaper price on something, the seller might not even sell it to you. Saying that all prices of e-shops should be the same (at a low price) means that we would have to discuss among ourselves on setting prices and that is COLLUSION.

To be fair, I understand that some e-shops make a good profit from their high prices when most of the blogshops get their stock from the same place. But that is because they have been in the business for a long time and they are selling their brand too. It's like, what gives you the satisfaction of buying an LV bag from a licensed LV boutique when you can buy the exact same thing (right down to the number of LV monograms) at a cheaper price? Online shopping is burgeoning and the famous ones are as good as buying from a local boutique like Treats or I=Am or whatever.

My point is, for customers who feel like they have been cheated/stood up for a COD/whatever should let the e-shops know first before going to the masses and flaming and discouraging the potential buyers from coming to the e-shops. At least give the e-shops a chance to better themselves because frankly, we're all still young and are the same age. How much more knowledge do we have about business compared to our dear customers? We're all learning together.
