from the author of Diary of an e-shopaholic
Hi, there! :)
First off, hats off to you for starting Fashion-Truth and the guts to pull it off. ;)
Here's my two cents:
Starting off with, I have only shopped in 5 online boutiques so far.
My 'regular' would be: ClothesBucket--excellent service, great descriptions, great photography. 5 stars. :)
The other four would be A Model Studio, Midnight Glam, My Closet Giggles and Bimbs Wardrobe. Yeap. I try not to shop online too much =p
Also StitchProject for those innovative badges.
(To clarify, never shopped with Rainbowmallows and i don't personally know her as well).
Have always maintained a good correspondence with all blog shop owners via e-mail. Never came across any 'rude' ones either. =)
On to Pricing:
Personally, this is how i online shop =
Shorts : +/- RM 30 (max RM 35)
Dresses : +/- RM 40 (max RM 50)
Tops : +/- RM 30 (max RM 40)
Plain spags/tank tops : ideally < style="font-style: italic;">[although granted, if all blog owners think on the same wavelength price difference should only be less than RM 5 difference].
However, if you do notice that on average, a particular online shop is at least < style="font-weight: bold;">Mechanisms of the Diary:
The way i revew items is unlike other review sites (as you would have noticed).
Details are emphasized, price, and sometimes if it's important sizes/colours are given as well.
As there is a given blog list, there will be occassions where i don't review every blog shop which have been updated for the day, especially if the blog list already shows that the particular blogshop has been updated. However, if time permits, i do try to review all the blog shops (like A Shopaholic's Den).
Unfortunately as this is a review site, i have to talk about items which i like, no? Most of the time the items i review are the items which i would wear--or which are currently 'in demand', or which have their own unique flair to it [eg. Gossip Girl headbands, pleated mini's, boyfriend Tees, interesting kimono/maxi's, glads, pumps, etc] It would be a lil' bit hard to review something which i don't like, right?
Most of the time, i do go according to theme (basics, dinner/clubbing dresses, plaids, etc) as well--which is when there is no personal bias. :)
Granted, there were a few readers who did say that i feature alot of the 'same sites' [eg. Pumpkin], hence lately i have been featuring a variety of sites, and not just the so-called 'popular ones'. Possibly it just so happens that those popular ones have items which catch my eye. =P
Any feedback on any way to improve the site is much appreciated and will be employed if reasonable. =)
Miscellaneous:
As a reader of Fashion Truth pointed out before--COD charges.
I believe that an owner has the right to charge for COD if the place is not convenient. However, to me, any charge more than RM 3 isn't worth it =p (unless that item you're paying foris really really worth it!)
Also pointed out was the fact that if the owner is meeting a total of 5 customers, this would definitely cover up petrol costs, no?
But, we should always remember that it is the seller's prerogative to do whatever she sees fit.
Any customer wouldn't mind paying if the rate is reasonable. :)
Ending Note:
Online shopping is a great joy. :)
Just becareful of the risks to it and don't expect much.
I actually do support this blog as i believe in freedom of speech or rather constructive freedom of speech. :P
Xash.
FROM FT :
so sorry but we should have made certain points clear right at the beginning. some of u readers may be clear of these stuff because u all have been reading the site from the very beginning. but for the "newbies", they probably don't know about it.
so here it is:
Price Comparisons.
well it may not be an appropriate 'name' to some. so, shall we change the title? we were thinking of changing it to "alternatives". just that.
and also, some readers may not know why prices differ so much. is it because the sellers just want to make a higher profit? or are there reasons behind it?
here goes : [have been widely discussed in the earlier stages of this blog]
prices may differ because :
1. some sellers wanna earn more, some sellers settle for less profits. some sellers just want to price their items lower than the popular blogs just to attract more customers.
2. sellers do get cheated by the suppliers. different suppliers charge differently.
3. some sellers hire models to model their clothings
4. some sellers do have an 'offline boutique'. offline boutiques are usually more expensive than online boutiques
5. occasionally, some sellers import their items from overseas, but they didn't know that their items can be bought locally at a much lower price.
6. some sellers MAY HAVE included COD charges & postage charges into their stated price.
[do email us at fashion.truth@gmail.com if we miss out any! ]
anyway,
for now...
the SITE IS UNDER 'CONSTRUCTION'. do bear with us for the time being. lol. not major construction, just wanna draft out a proper "header/intro" so new readers dont get the wrong idea.
sellers/buyers/readers, do email us and give us your feedback on what else we should add on this blog / this header-or-intro / anything to clarify. thank u very much
*wont be updating for the next 3 days. meanwhile, we urge readers to write in to us ya!
thanks!

blogroll
e-shops that wants to be added into the blogroll, please send us an email at fashion.truth@gmail.com
would appreciate if u all could link us up too
price comparisons
1. only items which have a price difference of RM7/8 and above will be posted up.
2. the price used for this price comparison is the price stated on the e-shop's webpage. (i understand that sometimes prices for items may vary depending on customers. some e-shops just put a high price as to allow further bargaining by the customers.)
mailing list
we appreciate it if eshop owners remove us from their mailing list. we are not a fashion review site thus there's no need for us to receive mails from u all telling us that u've updated. just add us up and we'll link u up at the blogroll. with that, readers will know when u update.
thank u
