I found it funny and unethical of blogowner to publish PERSONAL INFORMATION of customers.
be it the spreading of email-address (thus explaining countless of spam when we never subscribe to some of these blogshop)
But publishing FULL NAME, PHONE NUMBER, is just putting it up on another extreme level. That's so wrongg.
In contract, which includes online blogshop, there is implied term that personal information should remains private and confidential.
I am not so sure the situation in Malaysia, but in few countries the spreading out or sharing of customer's (or even impending one) personal information amounts to a contravention of law. It can either be criminal breach of trust (since that person is entrusting you their personal information) or other offence falls under cyber law.
In my life of shopping, internationally and locally, in such shopping community there are never such case like blacklisting customers publicly. Blacklisting SELLER, yes. Because the rational is, when seller cheats, they are cheating money from customer, e.g by not sending stuffs although receiving payment. That's a crime. And it is just right to give precaution to others by publishing this 'cheater's infor so that others won't be cheated.
But 'backing out customer' while MORALLY WRONG (as she didn't inform etc) should not be put to same treatment as this is two wholly different concept. It is not proportionate. while it is morally wrong, it is not a CRIME.
on the poll, while I agree sellers to share stories about BAD customers,
publishing personal information of blacklisted customer is a NO. That's two different thing.
like previous reader, I urge the personal information of said blaclisted customer be pulled down from the site.
it is just wrong.
thank you.
I wonder which blogshop is that. hmm. because of such irresponsible type person people are afraid in sharing or providing personal info.
