FROM FT :
so sorry but we should have made certain points clear right at the beginning. some of u readers may be clear of these stuff because u all have been reading the site from the very beginning. but for the "newbies", they probably don't know about it.

so here it is:

Price Comparisons.
well it may not be an appropriate 'name' to some. so, shall we change the title? we were thinking of changing it to "alternatives". just that.

and also, some readers may not know why prices differ so much. is it because the sellers just want to make a higher profit? or are there reasons behind it?
here goes : [have been widely discussed in the earlier stages of this blog]

prices may differ because :
1. some sellers wanna earn more, some sellers settle for less profits. some sellers just want to price their items lower than the popular blogs just to attract more customers.
2. sellers do get cheated by the suppliers. different suppliers charge differently.
3. some sellers hire models to model their clothings
4. some sellers do have an 'offline boutique'. offline boutiques are usually more expensive than online boutiques
5. occasionally, some sellers import their items from overseas, but they didn't know that their items can be bought locally at a much lower price.
6. some sellers MAY HAVE included COD charges & postage charges into their stated price.

[do email us at fashion.truth@gmail.com if we miss out any! ]

anyway,
for now...
the SITE IS UNDER 'CONSTRUCTION'. do bear with us for the time being. lol. not major construction, just wanna draft out a proper "header/intro" so new readers dont get the wrong idea.

sellers/buyers/readers, do email us and give us your feedback on what else we should add on this blog / this header-or-intro / anything to clarify. thank u very much

*wont be updating for the next 3 days. meanwhile, we urge readers to write in to us ya!

thanks!

blogroll

e-shops that wants to be added into the blogroll, please send us an email at fashion.truth@gmail.com
would appreciate if u all could link us up too

price comparisons
1. only items which have a price difference of RM7/8 and above will be posted up.
2. the price used for this price comparison is the price stated on the e-shop's webpage. (i understand that sometimes prices for items may vary depending on customers. some e-shops just put a high price as to allow further bargaining by the customers.)

mailing list
we appreciate it if eshop owners remove us from their mailing list. we are not a fashion review site thus there's no need for us to receive mails from u all telling us that u've updated. just add us up and we'll link u up at the blogroll. with that, readers will know when u update.

thank u

stories from readers 44

Photography
Not everyone are good photographers and not all can afford good cameras.

As for CandyTreats, I think her photos are excellent.
Clear. Sharp. Huge enough for our eyes to feast on the items.
It may sometimes be distorted or whatsoever you girls call it.
But from what I see, their photos are getting better and better.
(That's if you've seen their first batch of photos when they first appeared!!)
And her photos aren't stretched. They are the way it is.
As you can see, when taken nearer, you can see the item better.
When it's taken further, you'll have to click on image to enlarge it.
For CandyTreats, taken nearer is better however blogger's so called "Large" button made it looked stretched out.
So, it's not all their fault.

Now for Kiss and Tell,
if I'm not wrong, she's running the shop alone.
Therefore, she has to model up the items herself.
Yes, she has a very petite frame but least she tries her best to model them up.
With her as a model, there're dissatisfaction.
With her mannequin, dissatisfaction as well.
What do you expect her to do?

Clothesbucket
I think her photos are awesome! Especially with a lot of it being uploaded.
But I think she should upload photos with different pairings instead of one.

Clothes For Fun
Her pouting lips may be distracting.
But are you purchasing her or the item she's selling?
(Sentence bit offensive, but true, no?)

The Closette
I don't think she's revealling those cleavege on purpose.
You can blame those who have huge assets.
Sometimes, the clothes just happened to be low-cut just like the photo Reader 40 posted.

Dainty Dresser
Her clothes are gorgeous. Her photos are lovely.
But I think the photographer focused more on her face rather than the clothes.

Now, quoted from Reader 39:
3. Pose - Photos should not be over-posed to a point where it is difficult to tell what it looks like. Poses like sitting down, lying on the ground, body tilted sideways make it hard for us to see what it looks like. The best way to model the clothes is to stand upright and keep the hand gestures and hip swivels to a minimum. And don't forget to keep that long hair out of the way.

My two cents:
Do you get annoyed looking at magazines like CLEO, MNG catalogs, Padini Catalogs, etc?
If those models you see in catalogs and what not, stands straight in every single photos, will you be attracted or will you get bored looking at them?
It's just a way of those blogshop models to get attention from us, buyers.

Blogshops with excellent photos:

1. Clothes for Fun
2. CandyTreats
3. Shopaholics Unite
4. Clothes Bucket
5. A Model Studio
6. Kocek Clothings
7. Behind the seams
8. Bunny Noo

Blogshops with lousy photos:

1. D Looking Glass (Sometimes, her items are really NOT CLEAR!)
2. Blossom Boutique
3. TicTacToe (Sometimes, I really wonder if TicTacToe is focusing on her face or her stocks)
4. Stop. Shop. Splurge.
5. A Fashion Obsession (Bad lighting!!)
(There are more but I forgot the names)

Blogshops with average photos:

1. Dainty Dresser (too much focus on face but the colours and sharpness is better compared to TicTacToes)
2. Dressing Lab (Mirror image but never fail to show the whole outfit)
3. Oh! Popsicles (Sometimes her photo is bit dull looking)
4. Bouncing Bananas
5. Bummerbeebuzz (Bit too small, her photos)
6. The Envolopes (Same, bit too small)
7. Clothesville (Too much background colour)
8. The Colour Theory
9. The Colour Theory

Price Wars
And I see a lot of buyers complaining about pricing.
My thoughts, there'll always be different prices when it comes to same item.
If it's between RM1 - RM9 difference, we shouldn't make much noise.
I'm saying this because sellers may get different rates from suppliers.
(Some maybe the same supplier, some different)
And late comers always get lower cost price as they wanna clear off their old stocks
(I think)
But for those that's RM10 and above, that is just wayy too much!
That price difference, I'll never agree with.
We love to shop but at the same time, we love buying them at lower rates.
(If it's of similar item and quality)

Blogshops that has good pricing:

1. Kisssss and Tell
2. CandyTreats
3. Clothes for Fun
4. Clothes Bucket
5. Fashion Obsession
6. Clothesville
7. White Label
8. Bouncing Bananas
9. Divas Fashionista

Blogshops that is over charging:

1. LunaLola (Crazily over charged!)
2. TicTacToe (I once found out that one of her item cost only RM12 but she sold it at RM45?!)
3. DaintyDresser (Yes, her biz is picking up. But it's bit too much for a sudden jump in her pricing, no?)
4. Velvet Ribbon

Blogshops that is charging at average prices:

1. Milk Cottage (Ancient Orchid is selling "Ballooned" at RM38 when Milk Cottage is selling at RM50!!)
2. Bunny Noo
3. Toots
4. Ancient Orchids
5. Oh! Popsicles
6. Enchanting Hearts

In response to your point about models posing in magazines:

"Do you get annoyed looking at magazines like CLEO, MNG catalogs, Padini Catalogs, etc? ... It's just a way of those blogshop models to get attention from us, buyers."

Agreed - interest poses are a good way of getting attention. But bear in mind that when we read magazines and we like something, we go to the shop to see, try and then buy the item. With online shops, we can only see what is posted on the screen.

So perhaps a good middle ground is to have photos with interesting poses, accompanied by photos which are more functional and less artistic. Fair? =)

totally agree with elyse.

models in fashion magazines are different and i dont think it's appropriate to compare it with models in online shops.

as for candy treats, the photos are distorted. and i wonder how can a stretched photo be excellent =)
